Ephesians 3.20-21 declares, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” It was barely 11 years ago that I sat in a living room with a dozen or so people and dreamed of a church that would not exist for us, but for the cause and glory of Jesus Christ. I shared a vision of a church that would exist purely to point people to Him, and over the past 11 years we have seen God’s unfailing love and faithfulness in fulfilling this dream.
I am convinced, now more than ever, that as we look to the future we must be the church, which exists purely for the cause and glory of one, Jesus Christ. I want to challenge you new and afresh to join me in building a church that brings glory to Jesus Christ by being a blessing to our city, the nations and the generations. This is what the BEYOND campaign is all about. We can be content and rest with what God has done in our past or we can take a huge step of faith together to see God’s spirit work in and through us to accomplish far more abundantly than we could ever ask or think. It will require all of us as a church family to give sacrificially and joyfully. I am asking you to join your church family in the BEYOND campaign trusting that God will use us to see this city transformed by the power of the gospel for the glory of God.
