Epic Faith

THE JOURNEY

Think about every great movie that gripped your heart and made you sit at the edge of your seat. Chances are that the movie involved danger, adventure, love, people, and a hero that comes in to save the day. Why do stories like this capture our hearts and imaginations? The answer is simple. They are shadows of a true Epic that has been playing out since before the foundations of the earth. They’ve been trying to tell you about a true Epic ever since you were young. We know this because the story is written deep within our hearts. Ecclesiastes 3.11 tells us that “eternity is planted in our hearts.” It is the story of stories that shapes our lives.

Life, for most of us, feels like a movie we’ve arrived at forty minutes late. Sure, good things happen, sometimes beautiful things. But tragic things happen too. What does it all mean? We find ourselves in the middle of a story that is sometimes wonderful, sometimes awful—usually a confusing mixture of both—and we haven’t a clue how to make sense of it all. It’s no wonder we keep losing heart. It is because we have failed to see the EPIC of God, a story greater than our own. A story that shapes all other stories. A story that God is the author of, and he wants to reveal it to us. Our only response to this Epic is faith. A faith that causes us to want to be a part of this grand story. Join us as we begin a journey to discover the grand story of God unfolding throughout history. It is a story that gives meaning and purpose to our lives.

More than anything, I pray that you will live an EPIC life–a life that is shaped by the story of God for his own glory. I truly believe that this journey will increase your faith in ways that will engage you more deeply in the mission of God. Thank you so much for your partnership in this redemptive
project we call CrossPointe Church.

With great faith,
