New Here?

Welcome to CrossPointe Church Orlando
New here?  Welcome!  We realize that checking out a new church can be a very intimidating thing.  Even the most confident of people can easily become insecure when it comes to visiting a new church.  At CrossPointe, we want to help alleviate some of that potential uneasiness.  Though we can't answer every question, the following is intended to give you a sense of what this new church is all about.

Celebration Service | Sunday Mornings
We gather for worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30 & 11:00 am.  We encourage you to come as you are.  It is our hope that you will find an environment that is welcoming and authentic.  We will spend about an hour and fifteen minutes together, as we express our faith through songs, listening to Biblical teaching and participating in weekly communion.

What about the kids?
Believing that children are a gift from God, CrossPointe is a family-friendly church. If you have kids from infants-5th grade, you will be directed to the kids area of the YMCA.  A group of qualified children's ministry leaders* will check-in, care for, and teach your kids while you are in the church service. Those with young infants or restless babies may utilize our Video Cafe which will provide a live video feed of the service.
*Please know that all of our kids helpers and teachers have undergone a thorough background screening process.

What is the history of CrossPointe Church Orlando?
Shortly, before September 11, 2001, Chan and Stacy Kilgore packed up everything they owned and moved from South Florida to Orlando with just a God-given dream to plant a church that would point people to Jesus Christ.  Together with Jay Bauman and Jim Sisco (founding elders) and their families CrossPointe Church was started.  We officially launched on March 31, 2002 at the Lake Nona YMCA.

What about "one church two congregations"?
Over the past 7 years God has used us to plant many churches throughout Central Florida.  Up until this point, the church plants have never been as directly connected to CrossPointe.  With the launch of CrossPointe Winter Park, we are now one church with two congregations.  CrossPointe has always been about pointing our community to Jesus Christ, and now that mission gets to be lived out in a new context.  CrossPointe Winter Park will function fully as a church plant, while being able to share resources with the Orlando congregation.  It is our hope and prayer that this model will best allow us to live out our value of multiplication.  The goal is not to have two congregations, but many throughout Central Florida, in order to see the beauty, harmony, and wholeness of God's kingdom reign in our lives and in our communities.

What if you're not used to going to church?
We started this church for you.  It is our hope and prayer that CrossPointe Church Orlando will be a place where you can connect relationally as you are encouraged to explore the truth of the Scriptures.  Questions are encouraged as we will work hard to create an environment that welcomes the doubter, the disillusioned, and the disconnected.  We are not a group of people who have everything together, but we have found hope in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

What happens outside of the Sunday morning celebration service?
We believe whole-heartedly that the church is more than what happens on a Sunday.  That is why we are being highly intentional to develop our Connection and Community environments.  Please visit our Connect page to find out more information about the various ways you can get connected with CrossPointe Church.
