A Peculiar People | 1 Timothy 2:8-15

“A Peculiar People” takes us straight into one of the hardest passages in Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:8–15. Paul speaks to men and women in the church with words that, at first glance, can feel jarring in a modern context. Men are urged to lead not with anger but with prayer. Women are called to show their beauty through godliness rather than appearance. And perhaps most difficult of all, Paul writes that women should learn quietly and not exercise authority over men.

Rather than skirting these verses, Pastor Steve explains how they reveal the wisdom and goodness of God’s design. The call is not to erase gender distinctions but to show the world what it means to belong to God’s household. In Christ, men and women are freed to reflect His glory with faith, love, and holiness, becoming a people set apart by grace.
